THANK YOU for an amazing summer season✨

Greetings Members-

As we approach the end of an incredible season of hiking, trail running, and biking and embrace a season of gratitude, I wanted to express our deepest appreciation for your support as a member of the Wasatch Trail Foundation.

Our mission, to bring the human powered trail community together in Wasatch County to advocate for, plan, build and maintain a year-round trail system, has been at the forefront of our efforts throughout the year. Thanks to your support, we have been able to make significant progress and set ourselves up for more exciting growth to come.

  1. We're thrilled to share that we successfully reinvigorated the WOW Trail, a beloved and heavily utilized trail that had seen no significant maintenance since it was completed in 2015. Through the dedication of our team and valued partners, Apex Trail Design and Trail Provisions, we conducted a comprehensive top-to-bottom re-build, employing three machines and meticulous hand-finishing to preserve this local treasure for years to come.

  2. The Phosphate East trail, established in 2014, underwent a much-needed transformation this year. We enhanced drainage and elevated the trail to sustainability standards, ensuring easier maintenance in the future and prolonging the enjoyment for all.

  3. We're excited to announce that this year, we secured a $150,000 Recreation Restoration Infrastructure (RRI) Grant, made possible by the generous contributions of Vail Epic Promise and Mountain Trails Foundation. Your invaluable volunteer hours, along with support from our partners, totaled approximately 1,000 hours, enabling us to maximize the grant's impact.

Looking ahead to the coming year, we have, the most exciting project of all on the horizon: the Bonanza Flat Recreation Loop to WOW Trail (BO to WOW) connector trail. This trail will be the first connection between the Wasatch and Park City Trail systems, achieved after a long and determined approval process that has taken countless hours of work and years of dedication. We are thrilled to have recently received the final approval to proceed, with work commencing this July 2024, uniting our communities through an interconnected trail network.

None of these achievements would have been possible without your membership and support. We are genuinely grateful for your involvement in our trail community and excited to continue building and maintaining a trail system that supports outdoor recreation and overall health for years to come.

With Gratitude,

Mia Yue

Executive Director
